THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN PLANNING YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS
As your wedding florist, the more we know about your plans for the wedding, the easier it will be for us to give you exactly what you want. Pictures, photographs, sketches, colour guides - it all helps. Please make sure you leave plenty of time to book your wedding as we do book up many months in advance. Here are some things to think about before you come in for a wedding consultation.
The theme and style of your wedding:
What are the surroundings like of the wedding venue and the reception location? Is the wedding formal or informal? Classic or modern? What will the bridal gown look like? What mood are you trying to create? All of these answers will help us design an appropriate style for your special day.
A realistic ballpark figure of how much you want to spend on flowers for your wedding day will help us to suggest appropriate types, styles and quantities for flowers. We have set packages ranging from £229.00 up to £1,699.00 or we can create a bespoke package to suit your exact budget.
Your colour scheme:
Are there any colours which should be avoided? What colour are the bridesmaids dresses - or the grooms waistcoat? Or the table-cloths at the reception? Bringing a swatch of material to your consultation will really help, failing that, a photograph or even a colour match from a DIY store!
The bridal party:
What age are the bridesmaids? How tall are they? Are there any other attendants to think about (perhaps the mother of the bride, a page-boy or a matron of honour)?
If the bride or bridesmaids are having flowers in their hair, their hairstyle may affect how the flowers can be fixed and what style of head-dress will be appropriate.
The wedding venue and reception:
How large is it? What is the lighting like? If the wedding will be celebrated in a church, synagogue, mosque, temple or a civil ceremony at the main venue, are there any particular customs or requirements? Do you want table arrangements - and, if so, how many? What is the background like - what colour and what material? Do you want any flower arrangements for the car?
Thank you gifts:
Flowers make an ideal thank you gift for bridesmaids, mothers and others who have helped you with all the planning and organisation that goes into your wedding. You can arrange these through us before the big day and have them delivered to your venue on your wedding day.
